THE GREAT BARN AYNHO, OXFORDSHIRE

This recent wedding of mine was at an incredible venue, The Great Barn, Aynho, Oxfordshire for the gorgeous summer wedding of Nathalie & Ed.

THE VENUE: The Great Barn, Aynho, Oxfordshire

I met Nathalie & Ed at another wedding I shot down the Oxfordshire neck of the woods at a beautiful venue much like The Great Barn, built on stunning country grounds surrounded by greenery for miles. Nathalie & Ed asked me there and then to be their wedding photographer and they weren’t even engaged! We spoke about their dream wedding day and they said that they wanted to be surrounded by nature, in a quaint but bright and modern venue. When they got engaged, Nathalie instantly told me. It was such an exciting time & I was so grateful that after, what was a conversation over a few Proseccos, was something that Nat remembered and was adamant about a year later. When it came to that time to chat about all the details of their upcoming big day, the excitement in discussing all of the opportunities that The Great Barn had to offer for their wedding photos was the main topic of conversation. Nat & Ed were so excited to get married in this beautiful venue.

A summer wedding day at the Great Barn was something that every bride and groom could hope for. Bright and modern, views spanning for miles across idyllic countryside, whilst keeping a very quaint, characterful personality even with their newest additions to the grounds like the Cart Shed where the ceremonies take place. What made everything that much more special was the organisation and seemless flow of the day all thanks to the truly brilliant Jessica Brown Events - her warmth to everyone, her impeccable eye for detail in her planning and execution of it and her ability to make sure nothing is a problem to her clients is what made the day what it was. THE BIG DAY

The day began with a fizz of excitement in the air as I joined Nathalie and her bridesmaids in the bridal suite as the finishing touches of hair and makeup were undergoing. There were nerves and an overwhelming amount of excitement as the ladies prepared themselves for the day.

Ed and his groomsmen arrived at The Great Barn and made their way to the groomsmen’s cottage where they got suited and booted. Ed was nervous but with the help of his groomsmen and a tipple of beer he was laughing and enjoying the moments before the big one arrived.

Guests were welcomed into the Cart Shed, nestled to the side of the main venue with beautiful bifold doors letting in all that sumer light and air (which was certainly needed in August sunshine!) There wasn’t a dry eye in the room when Nat & Ed’s ceremony took place - so much applause and cheers filled the room which continued as they threw confetti and cheered with prosecco after they became Mr and Mrs out in the gardens of the venue.

Everyone then celebrated with lots of hugs, followed by a detour to the stunning lake just down the road on the grounds of The Great Barn, wandering around the idyllic scenery and capturing some very special moments of Nathalie & Ed as newlyweds, then completing the ‘mantelpiece’ shots with some formal family photos.

Speeches followed the heartfelt theme of the day and there wasn't a dry eye in the house when Nathalie finished off proceedings.

Finally the dance floor where the tempo increased, dancing, fun and laughter proceeded the rest of the evening amongst cake cutting and lots of moves on the dancefloor until the carriages arrived!

Such a special day. Thank you for letting me be a part of it Nathalie & Ed.
