HIGHFIELD HOUSE, DRIFFIELD, YORKSHIRE
This latest wedding of mine was at the stunning Highfield House, Driffield for the beautiful autumn wedding of Megan & Matthew.
THE VENUE: Highfield House, Driffield
Megan & Matthew heard of Highfield House online and instantly fell in love with it. After chatting over a delicious vanilla latte in the Pink Parlour a few months prior to their wedding, Megan told me how adamant she was about having an autumn wedding day in this spectacularly quaint venue that seemed truly fitting to the cosy vibe of an autumn wedding.
And Highfield did just that… from the golden shrubbery growing around the exterior of the Victorian style country house to the unique personalities of each exquisite and intimate room, it’s without a doubt that Megan & Matthew’s wedding venue of choice was the best decision they made. What’s more is that with such a relaxed atmosphere surrounding the venue, the amazingly organised staff and their chilled out guests, the day flowed so smoothly, allowing Megan & Matt to really take in every moment.
THE BIG DAY
The day began quiet and peacefully as I joined Megan in the bridal suite overlooking the stunning grounds of Highfield, as she was just having her makeup completed, she was totally relaxed with just her mum and her lovely niece Matilda helping her along, they had plenty of time to enjoy a prossecco or two until the big moment arrived. Her makeup artist Victoria Senior Makeup was fantastic and definitely exuded that calm atmosphere that Megan needed.
Matt arrived at Highfield with his mum and dad & headed straight to the Pink Parlour to greet his family & friends and enjoy a beer or two (a bit of dutch courage may have been needed!).
Guests were welcomed into the ceremony room, tucked away on the second floor of the house and centred around a breathtaking fireplace. A very nervous and emotional exchange of vows proceeded and it was then that Megan & Matt walked out as man and wife. So much applause and cheers filled the room which continued as they threw confetti upon the newlywed’s welcoming outside of the grand entrance of Highfield House.
We wandered around the grounds, capturing some very special moments of Megan & Matt as newlyweds, completing the ‘mantelpiece’ shots with some formal family photos.
Speeches followed the heartfelt theme of the day and there wasn't a dry eye in the house when Matt finished off proceedings.
Then the tempo increased as cocktails were served and the marvellous magician Rich Reynolds shared his extraordinary talent around the room which left everyone with great big smiles and lots of laughter.
Finally the dance floor where everyone’s hearts were full watching Megan & Matt’s first dance and then headed onto the dance floor to join them in one big celebratory dance, which obviously turned into many more until the carriages arrived!
What a day.
I couldn’t have been prouder to have captured this special day for such a deserving couple.
KIND WORDS FROM MEGAN & MATTHEW :
“We would highly recommend Maisie!
We had the pleasure of Maisie capturing our wedding day and we couldn’t be more thrilled with the results! From the very first meeting, she made myself, husband and family feel at ease and we left feeling completely confident. The day itself was a relaxed experience, as we requested.
The quality of the photographs exceeded our expectations. Every shot was beautifully composed, capturing both the big moments and the subtle details. The editing was perfect, enhancing the images without losing the natural feel. We are absolutely in love with how they turned out!
The turnaround time was quicker then expected, and the final gallery was easy to access, share with family, making the whole process seamless. I highly recommend Maisie for anyone looking for professional, creative and high-quality photography. We are in love with Maisie's work on hope this isn't the last time we cross paths.”

My aim is to tell the story of your wedding day through capturing moments naturally and honestly rather than ones that have been staged and posed.
The most important thing to me is for you to feel completely comfortable, relaxed and thoroughly enjoy your time with your family and loved ones on a day that you’ve spent so long preparing for.
